These results do not suggest hepatitis, or any liver problem. The ALT is just barely higher than normal range. Assuming that other liver enzymes are normal, there is nothing to worry about. If you had a reading twice this amount, that might indicate a problem.

I too had high levels and was told I needed a liver biopsy....scary!!! My doctors office that I trust as I have been his patient now for 20 years or so had schedule a consultation with the gastro' doctor for further review.I have been a faithful partner but I had to ask about the same question...Hepatitis = No hepatitis was found in my cultures.

A few weeks later I had to go to the doctor for another problem. my appointment with the gastro was another week away, the doctor ran my blood test once more for something different and my test came back normal.

I stressed for about 3 weeks with the thought of having to have my blood checked every couple of months.....My Advise wait a week or two when your calm and get a second blood work done....our body's do strange things and the first test may not match the second.
