Please answer if you have taken this or know someone who has. I know there are those out there that think that only modern medicine can "cure" a disease. I'm not interested in a debate.

There aren't too many published studies on the use of humans using flaxseed oil on breast cancer.

There was a study done in 2005 at Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada using ground flaxseeds. Researchers had post-menopausal women with breast cancer eat muffins containing 25 grams of ground flaxseed everyday. They discovered that the women who ate these muffins experienced slower-growing tumors...compared to women who didn't eat the grain-enhanced treats.

Another study involved researchers injecting colon tumor cells into rats and feeding them either flaxseed oil or corn oil. The flaxseed oil diet reduced the incidence of colon tumor growth by almost 50%, compared to the corn oil diet.

Flaxseeds are high in lignans - a powerful phytoestrogen and antioxidant. The main flaxseed lignan is called secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG). It's a mouthful, but a very important nutrient found in flaxseeds. Unfortunately, the majority of flaxseed oils are low in lignan content. Even flaxseed oils rated as 'high-lignan' flaxseed oils may contain only 4 mg. of lignans per serving.

According to research, you need a minimum of 50 mg of SDG per day to benefit from these healthful ingredients. The Flax Council of Canada says one rounded tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains anywhere from 50 mg to 150 mg of lignans.

Although there are other published studies using flaxseeds, the majority of them involve animals. Unfortunately, there aren't too many published studies involving humans and the use of flaxseed oil to treat/prevent cancer.

I recommend drinking 6-10ozs of Wheatgrass daily, 10,000% of your daily allowance of Vitamin C, Drinking 5lbs of Carrot Juice fresh, Green Tea(Sencha from Peet's is really good), and Oatmeal with Flax Seeds and Oil....and if you can't recover from that, it's time for chemo.

You need to awaken the body's ability to heal itself.

There are numerous stories of people bouncing back from cancers through optimism, spirit and incredible amounts of nutriton.

Avoid Soy products completely. Soy messes up the hormones in women. It's an ugly secret right now.

Also, wanting to live helps. Never under estimate the power of someone's Will.
