We'll the yahoo definition of scope form the dictionary states:
Scope:
NOUN:

1.The range of one's perceptions, thoughts, or actions.

2. Breadth or opportunity to function.

3.The area covered by a given activity or subject.

Other words for scope is: range, reach, horizon, the territory it covers etc.

Think about it in geometric terms. What does it cover?
The parameter of a square. The outline.

Basically, you are to write what is called an abstract. This is a general overview of your topic and how you investigated/researched the information. Limiting factors are what areas/issues arrised that could, for any reason, have skewed your interpretation of the data.
