How about a framed picture of you and your husband as children on one side and on the other side a spot for a 5x7 of you both on your wedding day, I bet that would be a neat gift that she would like. In fact, I bet you would like something like that too. And so would my cousin who is getting married in July, I'll have to keep that idea in mind for a shower gift, thanks for making me think of it!
Anyway, it doesnt matter the cost, what they will appreciate is the thought you put into it. Get creative, I'm sure you will find the perfect gift!

You could...
Make them a memory book of family things from the time you've been with their son.
You could make a donation to their favorite charity in their names. Or even have a tree planted in their names that's supposed to be planted on the date of your wedding.
Maybe you could make some sort of family tree that shows you as part of the family now.
Sorry, this probably isn't much help, I'm more of a crafty type person than a go out and buy something person.
I do however like the previous suggestions of going to "something remembered" they have great stuff, an they aren't over-priced. Oh one other thing, when my friend got married, she got those Italian charm bracelets for her Mom & Mother-In-Law. One of the charms on each (respectively) said "mother of the bride" and "mother of the groom". They were really cute.

I've been thinking about this too. Me and my fiance have no idea what to get either sets of parents. We are definitely going to just give them a little something at the rehearsal dinner but we don't know what. And then we are going to tell them that their real gift will come after the wedding. Have you ever noticed the pictures at Olive Garden like are like big black frames and then like in the middle their is another black frame type thing and in between it is just white. Well in the middle they have like a black and white picture that is like taken at some weird angle and they are gorgeous. Well we are going to get one like that made for everybody. Like grandparents and our parents. I think they will be gorgeous. Good Luck!

Never heard of giving parental gifts when you get married. However, after the wedding, I gave my mom an album of wedding photos.

Is this a tradition that I don't know about? I've never heard about giving your parents gifts when you get you married.
If you're not sure what to get them, give them a photo of you and your fiancee and have the frame engraved. Or, try http://www.personalcreations.com/home.asp. You can get all sorts of personalized gifts here.

I gave my in-laws an empty engraved album and an IOU for pictures from my photographer.

We set aside a window at our reception for a family portrait. We got the greatest shot of his parents, us, his sister & her husband and his little bro & sis (he is one of 4). Then we got a picture of just us "kids" and then one of his mom & her "kids". I ordered those pictures (plus tons more of all of us - his sisters & brothers were in our wedding so we had a lot) and went to their house one day and filled it. I also got a frame from pier one and put those three major pictures in it. This is the frame I got...it's all clear glass with a wood frame so it looks like the pictures are "floating".

Also, we wrote a thank you on the back page of our program especially to them for all their love and support through this process and always.
