I'm going to buy a Mac soon, should I buy an anti-virus program for it?

there was a spyware/virus blocker program that ran on OS X and XP , that would save u some money instead of buying 2.

i have had good results with Webroots - Spy Sweeper
but it is a windows only.

No kidding, I just bought a Mac and have a pc. Instead of anti-virus, I suggest you buy another pc. I detest my MacBook and am ready / willing to take a 15% open box penalty to return the thing. My HP, with all it's annoyances, will remain my best tool.

YES of course u need an anti-virus for a mac. Its like not vacinating a human being. He'll eventually die from some virus infection. Same comcept. Cheers!

Never used anything but a Mac.

Never had anti-virus software.

Never needed any.

Wouldn't touch a Windoze machine with a barge pole.

First virus known to exist was on a Macintosh, so yes. But make regular or incremental backups just cause stuff happens.power surges, fans stop cooling, electronic data gets splooged. Back it up and you save whatever data you think is important or entertaining.

not on a MAC...they are more secure than a regular PC...I have seen thier commercials...should not be needed...it's a MAC...
