Like, totally drunk? Never seen it happen. Having one or two drinks - probably common. I'm a bride, and I needed a drink before walking down the aisle. It IS a stressful thing, after all, to try and keep everybody happy.

If you are referring to a bachelor party it is common for the groom to get plastered but on the day of the wedding a big NO. If he has such a problem facing you on the big day sober is it wise to even walk down the aisle?. Most grooms and brides may have a shot of something or a litlle Champagne to ease the cold feet if any but usually you are sober enough to recite the vows to the one they are marrying.
Consider this as well does your fiance have a drinking problem?

Not if he wants to have any "action" on his wedding night. Being too tired/hung over is not a good way to begin his married life. It is the duty of the best man to make sure the groom gets to the ceremony ok. This means sober.

no not at the wedding-the bachlor party of course-but the wedding the bride and groom are basically mingling with family and friends -there isn't enough time to really get completely drunk or even let alone hang out with the wedding party all night long.besides it would look very disrespectful for you to be drunk on your special day instead of mingling-

Well speaking from experience... I drank maybe a case and a half of Miller Lite the night before my wedding... Let me tell you, I felt no pain whatsoever during the ceremony... I was pretty numb... glad I had a limo to take us back before the honeymoon !!! If the best man has done his job right, the groom should have a good buzz going the next day with memories of hookers and midget tossing still fresh in his mind !!!

it used to be that that guy had his bachelor party the night before the wedding. however, it is rarely done because i imagine that there were a lot of unhappy brides. i went to a wedding where this was the case and the enter groom party was so sick that they couldn't even enjoy the wedding.

If you need a buzz to get down the aisle you need to be rethinking getting married. if you show up drunk to your wedding you are gonna embarrass yourself for now and forever because no one is ever gonna forget or let you forget. I would be more than angry if I was your bride and you will spend your wedding night hugging the toilet. You better rethink this before you ruin something that is supposed to be sacred.

no, not only would the groom look like a complete *** to the guests but he would look like one to the bride. Why would anyone want to start a new life like that? I personally would not get married if my husband to be was drunk.

i think of that asking your groom to not get sloshed pre-wedding ceremony is advantageous. yet I additionally do not think of that having one small glass of port or a sprint champagne pre-wedding ceremony is all that undesirable. it could calm nerves, open your throat (for conversing) and until your fiance gets under the effect of alcohol on wine-gums, it won't result on his sobriety. you be responsive to his acquaintances as properly, do you have confidence them? confer with them and ask them appropriate to not get your groom toasted earlier the marriage and ask an identical of your groom. in case you're nervous approximately your sister then administration the alcohol interior the venue the place you're preparing, in case you notice her chugging down a bottle of rum then supply up her. Ask whoever would be there to help shop a watch on her. in spite of if, i think of that asking your groom to absolutely abstain from alcohol on the reception is slightly plenty. in spite of everything it somewhat is a social gathering. If he regularly gets so under the effect of alcohol he has to flow slowly living house then you definately've gotten a controversy yet whilst he's a in charge drinker then i might have confidence him to be responsive to whilst to offer up. in case you notice that interior the reception the eating is getting out of hand then say something. confer with him approximately it formerly by using all potential and tell him of your concerns and concerns yet i does not lay down the regulation and chunk off his head or be offended (given which you're saying you will not hound him) if he has a cocktail after the ceremony and a lager with supper. good success.
