I know that running will increase my energy which is the main reason I have decided to start. I also undertsand that physical activity is good to help get in shape. Can it help me lose weight or burn fat in places other than just my legs? Are there any other benefits that I should know about? Thanks for all the help!

It'll help you tone up everywhere, not just your legs. Your body stores fat everywhere and removes it from everywhere, not a specific target area, the solution for target reduction is only lipo.

It's generally great exercise and your life will be much better for it. Appearantly there's a great thrill from finishing a marathon.

Some advice, eat healthy, with jogging and running, when you're training, if you don't eat you'll be exhausted and it'll stop you from losing the weight you want. Another thing is keep a diary of your progress and work towards a goal.

Most importantly, make sure to get good shoes, go to a jogging store and talk to them. They'll need replacing every so often because of the huge impact. Running on poor shoes will ruin your knees and hips.

Good Luck.

I am not sure about jogging. I could never get into that. I mainly do walking instead.
