Do you think it is possible to have a boyfriend that really cares about you, but doesn't really show it? I mean, he's mostly my best best best friend in the world, with priveleges, of course! :) We are never all over each other, sit in separate chairs in the living room to watch tv...we do share a bed, tho. But sometimes I feel that he is just that...a friend. I always thought that that was the ideal relationship I wanted...but it would be nice to act like couples you see in the movies or out on the town, you know? So, do you think that it is ok to act more like best friends? We have been together for a year now. I know this is vague, but any input helps. Thanks!

I don't share my bed with my guy friends (however there are a few that I wouldn't mind...but that's another story).

Yea, it's possible. Anything's possible. But chances are if he's got you sleeping in his bed, and got the "friends with benefits" deal, then he's got the best of both worlds, and why should he commit?

Holy crap... you sound just like me and my fiancee... Were getting married at the end of april. It is possible to have someone who really cares about you but doesnt show it. My fiancee and I have been together for a total of five years and they were a rocky five years. He was very affectionate at first when we first started dating but it all faded fast when we moved in together. Weve broken up atleast three times over the issues I have about him not being affectionate enough., Not telling me he loves me,... being more of a friend than a boyfriend. We finally talked about each others feelings which didnt happen often in the beginging. We discussed the issues that we both have with the other person and we both agreed to Work on changing those issues the other has with us. To make a long story short. The best medicine is being honest. IF your truly unhappy then you need to speak up. Chances are he probably doesnt know exactly how your feeling. Or just how much it bothers you. It might always be something you two will have to work on. Atleast thats what Im thinking is the case for me.

Why do you want to act like couples in the movies? It's YOUR life, not theirs. Perhaps they fight at home after a night on the town. You never know.

ok tell him exactly what you just told us and either he will say yes and you live a happier life or he says no and life moves on. you can easily maintain your friendship sure it'll take a month or 2 to get over but what is that in a gamble for a lifetime?
