I have often experienced what you are talking about. The most powerful answer to prayer that I have ever witnessed was when God healed my daughter. She was three years old and was on the Virge of kidney failure in one kidney. According to the doctors prognosis they would lose one kidney but were hoping that they could save the second kidney. Everyone was praying-I opened my bible and it randomly opened to the Abraham and Isacc story. I knew at that moment that she was God's daughter -just mine on loan. I put her in God's hands. The next day they ran more tests. Her Urologist came in and said "If you believe in a higher power than I would get on my knees and praise Him because there is absolutely no sign of any disease and absolutely no scientific reason for healing" For anyone asking for proof -that is all I need. By the way that was several years ago and she now has one very healthy kidney and one with only minimal damage. I love my Lord so much!

Praying is lobbying God.

I have never prayed and so I can't say that God answered me.

However, it seems that events are random. People only talk about prayers that are "answered". If you take into account those which are not answered, you will probably find that it does not make any difference whether you prayed for something or not.

To me that indicates that there probably does not exist a God that answers prayers.

Asking God for help is like having a conversation with a friend or something. You don't need the bible or to write and read some words. It must come from your heart.Just close your eyes and pretend God has asked you what you want then tell him. I haven't heard of a situation where someone has literally called God. He is sure to help you. He has really done wonders for me!

In all the decades I've prayed, NEVER have I gotten any answer.
Nothing could be even identified as an answer from "the Man
upstairs". I don't pray anymore--why should I talk to myself?

The last time I asked God for anything, I asked Him to cure my marijuana addiction. Then Hurricane Katrina happened, and my dealer evacuated to Houston and never came back. I haven't smoked weed since Katrina. Praise God.
