I have posted this once before and I would like more answers!!!

I met this guy who is 29 years old on a reputable dating site . I'll call him "Aaron." Aaron and I have been talking everyday for the last couple weeks and talking on the phone. He seems like a genuine guy. He even told me he was arrested for a minor infraction. Nothing to raise alarm. I'm very interested in him and he is very interested in me. Though I am 18 years old. Do you think this is wrong? What would you do? Do you think age matters?

He also has a 4 year old son.

*Mature answers only please*

I don't think age matters one bit. I am 5 yrs older than my hubby and my sister in law is 10 yrs older than hers! Get to know him and then base your decision on how you feel toward one another not age. You may find that you're perfect for each other or maybe find that it doesn't work...only time spent with each other will determine that.

I am a single mom who has used the Virginia State Police website (your state should have one too) to check the sexual abuse registry. Be very careful. You might not know his real name; he may or may not really have a child (some men say that they do because women have a tendency to nurture, and that can be used to lure you in). If you do meet him, be sure to do it in a public place and let someone know where you're going and when. 29 and 18 is a big age difference (though I didn't think it was when I was 18, I'm 36 now & know better). It might all be good, but you can't be too careful. Good luck, dear.

Well with any first date where you don't know the person be cautious. Stay in a public area and meet him where ever you two plan to go.
If you want to go out with him go ahead, you're not going to get to know him well until you do. As far as him having a son, you can deal with that later, basically just get to know him. And age sin't an issue as long as both parties are of legal age. Just be aware he may be the type of guy he is looking to take advantage of a younger less experienced woman. Goodluck.

If you truely like him and feel he likes you and can be trusted, there is no reason to meet him in a public place. The bigger question you should be asking yourself is, if it works out, are you ready to be a mother at 18 or 19. You may say yes now, but when you get older, you may start regretting the fact that you never had a chance to get out and enjoy life before being a mom.

I would advise using extreme caution and looking at this through a jaded eye until you find out otherwise. You can be anything you want on the net. He might be genuine, or he may just be telling you what you want to hear. 50-50 chance. I'm leaving the age part out, that doesn't matter. Basic safety first.

Are you ready to be a mom? Are you ready to deal with his "ex"? You know he is attached to her for the next 14yrs. You really don't need to start off like this.

Here is the deal. Five years ago you were 13 and he was 24..still ok?

If you were 35 and he was 46 maybe no biggie, but believe me there are guys who are closer in age that don't have a rap sheet and no baggage....

Stay friends, but move on!

no offense but 18 is too young to have a serious relationship with a guy who has a 4 year old son

Age does matter and you are of legal age. Did it ever dawn on you that he might be " Mr. Wonderful " just to get you in bed ? I think you need to drop this more mature model and find one that's more your speed ( age & maturity level ).

When meeting someone on the net you take a big risk. I personally think you are too young to realise the risks. Find someone you can talk to face to face and introduce to your family and friends.
