Sounds like you need a flat iron with a higher wattage. You need lots of heat if you have super frizzes. As for protecting you hair, look for Thermal Protection products.

You need to stop chemically staightening your hair, you might find your problem will go away in a very drastic way. Curly hair is porous and the chemicals make it even more so. I bet your hair is like cotton candy! Can't you use a good straightening iron, or is this what you are doing? There are good products for straightening with a staightening iron. First of all use a good ceramic iron and shop at a beauty supply, not a grocery store. Buy Nexxus, Paul Mitchell, Sebastion, Matrix or similar product to pre-treat your not quite dry hair. If you have tried all of this either go to a professional salon, or learn to love your curly hair.

Honestly: don't use any shampoo or styling product purchaseable at "walmart". sunsilk, suave, vo5, pantene, etc. it builds up over use, and ruins the hair. 'strip' the hair of these products by purchasing a hair cleanser from redken. use it once a week or every other shampoo, condition regularlly.
also, for your frizz problem, dab a pea sized amount of biosilk silk therapy into your hair [purchaseable at ulta, sephora, costco] and spray with redken hot sets mist, straighten and style as usual. follow with another dab of silk therapy to hold the style, soften, and maintain frizz-free hair.
hope this helps!

I put biosilk and sunsilk straighten up on my hair when I get out of the shower. It also sounds like you need a better straightener. Mine was a revlon, it cost about $30. Or you can get one that lasts longer by Helen of Troy but it's about $80 I think.

I heard about a product called Bio Silk, but it's expensive. You can find it at a beauty salon, or JC Penny's or Macy's

I have the exact same question...
What I try to use is "Sunsilk" shampoo. They have different types of shampoo for different types of hair. Try that.
