I wanna cardio but i am afraid i will become more skinny (I am 5'6, 125 pounds, 14 years old)... i know it kinda sounds like i am normal but i can see some of my lower ribs in the mirror...also am i short for my age?

in otha words, i am tryting to bulk up on my upper bosdy (chest, shoulders, arms) but trying to becoem more skinny with my abs...

Lift heavier weights, less reps. Graduate to pull-ups, gymnastic movements and heavier weights. Don't sacrifice your flexbility in your pursuit of strength.

If you want to see how you truly measure against people your size or age, try Martial Arts, Wrestling or a contact sport. That's a better barometer than looking in the mirror.

Dude, you're 14 - no need to over do the self-evaluation stuff yet. That's later.

If you increase your muscle and quality of muscle, it will lower your bodyfat.

Cardio is less important unless you're worried about endurance. In fact, cardio would likely make you look softer.

The way bodybuilders do it is to bulk up generally, where they eat more while training. Then they carb down to get the definition. This allows them to build the most muscle, then to lose the fat over the muscle for the defenition.

However, for the most part, you can do 1/2 hour of cardio per day to help tone as well. Or try swimming, that way you work muscles while getting cardio.
