if a girl is 16-17 when she began a relationship with a man who was 30 at the time, and to avoid getting charged by her parent, he hurried and married her as soon as she turned 18. can he still be charged with statutory rape? In other words, are there statute of limitations on statutory rape. I don't think it is, if priests can still be charged 10-20 years later from the young boys they molested

I think the statutes of limitations will vary depending on which state the crime was committed in. I'm pretty sure that some of the states have no statutes of limitations on sex crimes, while others may have say 10 years or so.

I stay in Florida and don't have self belief there's a impediment Florida Stat. Ann. §775.15 No statute of barriers for sex battery if sufferer reported the offense interior seventy 2 hours. Florida S 698 (2001) Tolls the statute of impediment until eventually a sufferer of a sexual offense reaches age 18 even as the sufferer is a minor, or until eventually they document it to authorities, whichever occurs first.
