New york.....any suggestions?

I am going to New York city to visit a friend who just moved there for her birthday, we are both sort of tight on money. Does anyone know of something fun to do for cheap, or cheap places to eat?

Jimmy's #43 (located at 43 East 7th Street) won a couple of awards for cheap eats. Order the shepherd's pie.

Afterwards, you could spend the night walking around Greenwich Village.

ted's,found all over new york steak, baked potatoe, corn, vegestables..drinks inexpensive good
