only if you let it.

one drink doesnt make you an alcoholic, and one spliff doesnt make you a junkie in waiting, but some folks have an addictive nature, be it lines of coke, tins of tennants super, bars of chocolate...

and some folks can resist the temptation... however, theres a few drugs which become addictive... like heroin and crack and crystal meth... and even these habits dont develop in 24hours... you have to persevere to get a habit... and by then its too late... coz getting off isnt easy, certainly not in a landscape littered with easy opportunity...

the real trick is not to start... simple as that... and all drugs carry some kind of adverse side effect... and associated risk...

There (probably) isn't a drug-related cause and effect, but there is a social cause and effect. If you buy a 'soft' drug like pot, you have contacted an illegal underground network to get it. Now that you have contacted them, if you ever have the desire to do hard drugs, you already have or can easily make the underground contact to get those drugs. If you could buy pot like you buy alcohol, you wouldn't already know a guy for meth and would have little idea of how to meet one without looking like a narc. In today's world, your pot experience could open doors for you that you'd rather have left shut and maybe even added a padlock to. Some argue that taking pot or alcohol to relieve stress, have fun, or unwind is dangerous in itself, and that once you use drugs like those recreationally or habitually that you'd be more open to trying something dangerous. (Many of them go to their doctors for drugs to serve the same purpose though?) I think that's a load of crap--either you take risks blindly or you don't. It made more sense twenty years ago when you couldn't find honest research about marijuana--you could figure that if the government lied about pot harming you that maybe they lied about coke, meth, and heroin too. Now there are more honest studies so you can really see what you are getting into with most of those drugs--so the 'don't trust the government' and the 'I'm 18 and therefore invincible' attitudes aren't as likely to come together as they did in the past.

No it doesn't but once you buy soft drugs you will find yourself on the other side of the proverbial moral and legal railroad tracks . You will therefore be dealing with people who make a living disregarding the law ,These people have access to other things that are also illegal. So to clean up the verbal mess that I just made: Soft drugs lead you to other people that HAVE hard drugs.
Personally I think that society would benefit if they could keep the caual weed smoker away from real criminals - just an opinion

No it doesn't. Of course those in power will try and have you believe otherwise...

I smoked a fair bit of weed years ago and have never touched anything else, nor will I ever. Even when I was smoking pot I knew that no other drugs appealed to me in the least. Yes, lots of 'hard' drug-addicts start on the 'soft' stuff, but it's a personal choice, not a secret pact that all drugs have going on to get you addicted to them all. Like I said- it's a choice.

it can and often does, but one cannot make a blanket statement like that because its different for individuals. How do you define a soft drug. some people could take an illegal drug once and die from it.
others may take repated doses before they die. Drug users are always lookin for the next thing that will get them high, especially if its cheaper. Most drugs are very expensive even the softer ones
so i guess the answer could go either way.

YES YES and don't even start, lots of drug addicts started on soft drugs. I just don't understand why people want to take drugs, are they bored? or something.
What is wrong with getting a hobby that would be more interesting than going around off your face with a stupid grin. Everybody knows a junkie when they see them.
Take my advice don't even start
Sorry for going off the deep end my friends son overdosed and she is stunned,he took soft drugs

Not always.
But get fed up of people who take "soft,"drugs trying to justify their habit by comparing it against alcohol.
Especially dislike middle aged people smoking with youngsters thinking they are cool and youthful.
If we're really honest soft drugs, hard drugs, too much alcohol all bring misery and mayhem to peoples lives.
Best to avoid all addictive substances if possible, but it's too difficult for most people to avoid being sheep.

Erectile Dysfunction can be devastating to men, and unfortunately, millions of men suffer from the condition. Learn how to cure erectile dysfunction https://tr.im/4WoPC

If you go to the doctor to talk about the issue, you’re likely to get put on one or more of the popular medications used to treat the condition. While they can be effective (temporarily), these medications come with a raft of side effects, some of which are decidedly unpleasant. Even worse, these medications aren’t really a cure, they’re more like a temporary workaround.

Worst of all, they tend to be really expensive. Month after month, you’re having to pay to work around your condition. That’s what the Big Pharmaceutical companies want.

If you ask any addict they will probably tell you that they started by using soft drugs, but not everyone who uses soft drugs becomes an addict, same as not everyone who drinks becomes an alcoholic. Trouble is, if you have an addictive personality you will crave more.
