I was looking at my repositioned tooth and measured how much tooth would need to be filed down to look even wit the other front tooth and its about a 16th of an inch...not much in my eyes. Is that too much for any patient? or does it depend on the patients tooth and how much layer the patient has to file down? also, to any dentist, have you filed this much down before or known someone who has?

By the way, the reason hes longer than the other is because it couldnt go all the way in due to blood and swelling...the dr said it would of caused infection and problems if they tried.

1/16" is a lot in the tooth world... You can let him start and if the tooth becomes sensitive to the filing, just ask him to stop. Do this WITHOUT any anesthesia so you will be able to tell how it feels.
