I totally agree with you, except for your assertion that 25% of people online are " sexual offenders ". 74% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Well, we are just human and they are only questions whether the advice is taken or not is totally up to us we are more mature and have more experienced, but still we need the help understanding some situation just as you do when asking this question to the same strangers and mind you most of us are here in good faith with no bad intation and we are good parents with the same issues something you will understand in do time.

When I'm able to help a parent with a problem or let them know they are not alone it makes us feel better and become more understanding of our children, so the question is not so personal since we all have them.

I think a parent who thinks they know it all & will not ask for advice from time to time, from wherever they can, would be a worse parent! Nobody knows what to do all the time. Finding out what other people think about situations & problems can help you to know if your thinking about things in a clear & fair way, or not. It doesn't mean you have to take someones advice if you ask to hear it. Being a parent is very hard sometimes & we try very hard to do what will be the best for our kids. I'm guessing that your not a parent.

No parent knows all the answers and sometimes getting outside advice can prove enlightening. Sometimes seeing that others agree with you or use the same styles helps re-enforce your self confidence. Advice is just that. It can be taken or left. There's no way to know what type of a person is answering your questions but you can reflect on what has been said and make a decision after more information has been gathered.

I think in this day and age a lot of people (in the case, parents) like to ask advice and this is a very easy way to do it. I'm sure that the majority of serious people who ask questions take the advice and may adapt it to use in their own lives or throw it aside thinking the people are idiots. By serious people, I'm referring to those asking serious question, giving serious answers. NOT the people who get on here and ask "My b/f is an a**, cheating on me, what can I do to get mah baby's dady back?", etc.

I'm a parent and I like both giving and receiving advice on here. And, I believe, as do many others, that I'm a wonderful, capable, and intelligent parent with two happy, healthy little girls.

never hurts to get advise. what u do with it is another thing. a parent can wean out the obvious unsavory people, and migrate toward the sincere, decent answers. according to your statistics, 75% of the people responding are not pedophiles. just because a person becomes a parent, does not mean that they have all the answers. sometimes people ask questions that they should know the answers to, but since they dont, it is good that they reach out for help.

It's funny that you feel that way, yet here you are on the site with a profile, stop judging people. I hope that when you have a problem you won't need advice from anyone.

That is no way to look at it. This is a great way to just get different ideas about what works. I mean are we just supposed to know crap. We have to learn this stuff from somewhere.

I personally haven't asked for advice about my children, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I think your assumptions are just rude.
