I'm not fat or anything, i'm just self concious because all my friends are skinny and I'm well, not. I only need to lose a little bit of chunk on my body, does anyone know a good healthy idea?

Count calories.

Sounds simple, but basically at the end of the day, you need to take in less calories than you burn to lose weight.

I'm doing this right now and the weight is coming off easily. Average 1450 calories a day by having a 400 calorie breakfast, lunch and dinner and then having two 100 calorie snacks (easy to find now in stores) and a 50 calorie snack... you can also combine the 50 with one of the hundreds if necessary. Two meals a week let yourself have whatever you want.... mexican food, pizza, whatever your craving is. Knowing you can have two meals a week to fulfill those things you just can't live without reeeeally makes this diet possible.

I have been amazed at how much i can eat.... english muffin with eggs for breakfast, sandwiches and salads for lunch, etc. You can even have a whopper jr with mustard! I love the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches, 100 calorie pudding cups, etc.

Good Luck.... you are so young and need to enjoy how you feel without being preoccupied with your size. Get a good calorie book that includes restaurants. Try counting calories for a week and see if you can't make it work for you!

First off you shouldn't feel bad about your body. At (14) some harmones have not kicked in yet. When they do your whole body changes generally causing more tone and muscle.
If you really are commited to losing a few pounds cut out things like soda, candy and carbs.
Also take an aerobics class or karate or some type of exercise which is scheduled two or three times a week. Make sure it is a class you have comitted to and are scheduled as trying to work out when you feel like it dosen't always work. Aerobics and Karate also help define muscles and tone. Sports are also good but not everyone can compete so Aerobics and Karate Kata are something one can do at ones pace.

Why not try running or joining a sports club? Or you could just cut out soda and all the stuff filled with sugar and fat. Try eating mostly vegetables and skinless meat also drink a lot of water. Jump rope is also a great way to loose weight if you could jump for about 20 min everyday. Or run up and down stair for 20 min. Then pounds are sure to come rolling off. Make sure your eating food and not starving yourself that doesn't work you'll end up gaining weight instead of loosing it. Good Luck and remember willpower and stay strong!

First, the really skinnies aren't that good looking. If your serious, ask your doctor first, Then start the sit-ups. Like 500 calories less per week with exercise is a good way to lose those pounds. But just talk to your doc first.

note: this message has not been approved by the FDA. consult your doc first

You're still young, and chances are you're carrying around a lot of your baby fat. Just stay active, try out for a sport, or just plain exercise and you should be fine.

Eat more veggies and less cheese and other fatty foods. Make sure you are eating a balanced diet. Try to go for a short walk every day (even if it is only around the outside of your house or apartment building).
