I do not like garnier at all. I have light brown hair and in my more ignorant days I would dye it bright red. The garnier brand had nice shades, but after the color was completely washed out of my hair, it would remain to dye everything it came in contact with red for like a week after dying. Everyday I would spend like 30 mins in the shower trying to get it all to finally rinse out and it took a week. My pillow is still red, and that was like a $70 pillow.

You are exactly like me! I love L'Oreal color. I have used Garnier before, a red shade actually and it looked great for the first week or so, then it started to turn out real uneven, because it was washing out so quick. But then again, red dye doesn't hold too well. My experience with that brand wasn't all that great. I went back to L'Oreal after that. :)

I use L'oreal cream. It's low odor doesn't affect my asthma and the color is phenomenal. The cream mean that it's easy to use and is less messy than the liquid stuff. I use a shade of blond so you know how pungent it can be. If you have longer hair try buying two kits of the same color, that way you'll be sure to have enough. I'd rather have a bit to much than not enough. Good luck and your hunting.

I highly recommend Loreal's Feria. It has plenty for longer hair and makes it super shiny. The color lasts along time too.
