We have made the Shootout so far this year, have our tickets and camping reserved for Texas in April. May takes us to Charlotte and then we will go to Daledega or Texas in the fall!

Each year is different it just depends on which track I'm going to. This year is Darlington, last year it was Martinsville and the couple years before it was Charlotte. I live in the easter part of the US and usually are only able to go to the races on the eastern side. Plus have a small child and take her and don't want to keep her in the car for a real long time.

to see a race in person the one and only BRISTOL. "Racin the way it ought to be" isn't just a slogan, it's a motto. 135mph around a half mile track and above the 15th row you can see the entire track from 99% of the seats. Come on folks how can you go wrong with that. At talladega you get to see the cars go by and then chit chat with your buddies for a minute and a half before you even see them again. And the "mid range" tracks like chicago, texas, california, michigan....they aren't bad races but as far as excitement goes, it usually comes down to miles/gal and pit strategy, which is much easier to follow on television unless you have a scanner tuned in to nearly every pit.

I'll take short tracks any day. But growing up 45 minutes from bristol probably makes me a little biased.

I'm looking forward to a lot of the races this year, especially the ones that I am attending. I am looking forward to Vegas this weekend, to both Charlotte races, Martinsville, and the Brickyard among others. I will be at Martinsville and the Brickyard and I am hoping to attend the fall Charlotte race.

I'm curious to see what happens at Bristol in 3 weeks with the COT.

I also may try to go to Montreal and see the Busch race just for fun this summer as well.

The last one, this way I know the season is over. It's a bit boring this year. Every single race has been less than 6 laps before the checkered because of cautions. I said it before. Ya might as well just watch it like the last 2 minutes in a basketball game.

Obviously Daytona (but it's past), the Brickyard, Talladega (for the Big One), Dover, and Martinsville. I have to wait for Sunday for me to reserve judgment on whether or not I like the new track at Vegas, but I'm very excited.

Cheers!

talladega!! I love those big restrictor plate races!! I also looked forward to the Daytona 500, which I thought Mark Martin was robbed at the end! I was looking forward to it because I haven't watched NASCAR in a while.
