If I understand right you have a new key for the car and need to get it programmed. If you only have one good key you will need to find a locksmith and have them add the second key.

If you have two keys and need to program the third new one do this
Put old Key 1 in ignition turn to on position for 10 seconds, turn off and put old key 2 into ignition turn to on for 10 seconds, then remove and put new key in. turn on and leave for 10 seconds. turn off. trhen try starting with all 3 keys.

Uncle red is right to a point...

Most locksmiths do not have the machine to properly code the new key to the PATS module if you only have 1 key to start... Takes the Ford dealer for that or a locksmith who has a service tool (but he will want almost as much as the car dealer.. no free lunch)

If you have two keys that will start it, follow his directions.

You do not need to go to the dealer. The guy with the answer about turning the keys on and off is correct. The sequence is the problem, I'm not sure he has it right but I read the answer at http://www.fordf150.net/howto/patskey.php you can go there and check it out.
