That could be one of the reasons why the scriptures tell us to not make an image of things in heaven or earth. If people are left alone to learn from the Holy Spirit instead of society, then they might get the right interpretation of what Jesus tried to teach us. For example, the Bible doesn't tell us there were 3 wise men but pictures, Christmas cards, nativity sets show there was just three. I've seen pictures and statues depicting Jesus as a white man, a black man with dread locks, etc. I don't think that Jesus wants us to sway others into believing one way or the other about the color of His skin, just to believe in Him.

God dose not have a colour because we have never seen him, we simply know Jesus was a Jew so what colour is a Jew, the ones I know are white with brown eyes, I also know a few black Jews, and of course there are Japanese Jews, there are Jews in every country of the world, all different races and colours, so to say God is white is simply nonsense.

I suppose each religion when expressing God and Jesus in art relates the images to their own culture but yes you're right he would have been the Middle- Eastern color. The main thing is what the images represent and what they tell us.

If you look at 1 John 1:7 is talks of our salvation lying in the BLOOD of Jesus, not in his skin. Frankly what does it matter then what skin color he happened to have? It makes no difference to me. He could have been purple for all I care.
