I had a DUI 6 years ago and was required to get a SR22, but i still don't have a license so what good is the SR22?

If you dont have a license and dont want one you dont need the sr22 filing. If you want to get your license reinstated that would be the point you would need the sr22 filing. If you already have car insurance just call your local insurance agent or comapany and ask them to "endorse" the sr22 filing onto your existing policy. It should be a nominal charge for that one. SR22 is insurance on the person not the car, so if you did drive you have insurance. Not having a license doesn't stop anyone from driving if they have a mind to do it. On the bright side if you did, your insured.

It is to show financial responsibility...contact your insurance agent or any insurance company for that matter they can explain in detail......
