I love Mary Kay products. Here's how my Sister in law built her business. During prom season, she had a party at my house and my daughter invited 6 of her friends and thier mothers. All of the girls brought their dresses to match the colors they were wearing. Turned out to be a great party for Sally as the mothers bought make up also. She did that for several other girls and most of them are still customers of hers today.

I am also a consultant... love the products thats why I agreed to sell it.

Listen to your director- dont try to reinvent the wheel. Its been done before and there are some great ideas for getting your business set up.

Have fun with it. As they say, don't quit your day job just yet. But the commission is great.

My advice to you is do not harrass people. They will buy if they want to. I had a Mary Kay consultant calling me every day for 6 months because I told her I would think about letting her do a "free facial." I just told her that to get her to leave me alone. She really got on my nerves. But, good luck and I'm sure you will do fine.

I once met one at a store and when she offered to do a free facial she was always calling me,and getting me to buy some more stuff.I was too nice to tell her no,but my hubby told her that it was a waste of money. But anyways when she did the facial thing.I got a realy bad eye reaction the next day.I HATE MARY KAY!!!! CLINIQUE IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!!

I cannot stand Mary Kay!
I prefer more organic, animal friendly lines like Arbonne and MiEssence.

My grandma's a beauty consultant, but I don't really like the products because I always seem to have bad reactions to them. But my grandma always seems to have fun and I let her try the products out on me.
