Ok a couple of weeks ago I sent this guy that works in my building a box of chocolates with a nice note that said secret admirer. He works in a different department. I've always kind of liked him but I know he doesn't feel the same. But he had seemed down lately and I felt this would be a nice gesture. I didn't mean for it to go any further. Never wanting him to know it's me. Well immediately after he received the package I know the day he was going to get it. He did look at me several times. But I acted really normal and nonchalant. Well about a week went by and I have to go to his area sometimes. I noticed him really observing me still looking in my eyes to see how I'd react. He seemed really sweet and nice. I feel at one point he thought it was me. But after this he acted really nice toward me. But the next day and ever since he avoids coming to my department and when I do see him he acts grouchy. Why would someone go from sweet to this. It's like what did I do?

The thing is he used to come to my area everyday to bring work. Now he never comes over. The one day I think he thought it might be me. A couple of minutes later he came over and looked over at me with a big smile. I smiled back nicely. There's also others in my area he could think it is. But I've always got the feeling he's known I like him. But why is he acting so grouchy now. Is he mad that it might be me and not someone else. Gosh if I got a nice gesture and nobody went forward I'd just be nice to everyone and not flirtatious. Be thankful and move on. Anyone why would someone act like this?

Sounds like he was hoping it was you and since you didn't do anything he may be upset. I'm kinda going through the same thing right now. On Valentines day this guy I like, I'm pretty sure he likes me to, kept looking at me. I didn't do anything so the next day he completely ignored me and stayed away, I ended up leaving a piece of candy where he would get it, we work different shifts, and now he's back to looking and coming by again.

Maybe he got his hopes up, and, when you didn't respond, he got upset with you because it wasn't you.

Does that even make any sense?
