There are companies that will take your money to do exactly what you can do for yourself. Just get copies of your credit reports from all three bureaus (at www.annualcreditreport.com), and dispute the bad stuff. Those companies are playing the odds that a creditor will not respond to the disputes and the items will be deleted.

Only the negative items on your credit history that can be proven to be incorrect can be legally removed. Don't' be fooled to think that a company can give you instant good credit. Not possible. If the information on your credit report is true it is likely that you will just be giving these companies your money in return for nothing. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.
Save yourself some money and request a copy of your credit report and start to clean up your own credit history by devising a plan to pay each debt off little by little. You would be surprised what you can accomplish within a 6 month time. If you have closed credit card accounts (charge-offs) that appear on your credit report, start by contacting each credit card company and (if you can) make an offer to pay a certain amount (usually 20%-50% ) of the balance (in one lump sum) in return for marking the account as paid off in full. Most companies will do this because they know that otherwise they will get nothing. Stay firm on your offer and get everything in writing from them before you send them any money. keep copies of documentation. It can be time consuming but it works. Unfortunately it is not possible to remove a bankruptcy from your credit report but in time it will automatically come off (7-10 years in most states).
Good luck to you.

Your credit history is just that. A history of what you've done.
You can improve it by paying bills on time and reducing debt. No company can do that for you. About all they can do is advise you to do just that. Pay on time. Stop charging things you can't afford to pay for. Pay your debt off or at least pay it down and don't add to it by charging more stuff.
If there is something on your credit history that is incorrect, you can dispute it. You don't need anyone to do that for you. You just file a dispute. If it is incorrect, it will be removed from your report.

No company can LEGALLY remove ACCURATE information from your credit report. YOU can legally dispute INACCURATE information for the cost of a certified letter. Why pay any company to write a letter you can download from hundreds of sites free of charge?

"Improving Your Bad Credit Report: If you have a bad credit record, check the reason for this report. If the reason is due to late or non-payment on your behalf then, start making the payments to the lender and clear off the debts quickly.
Dont make late payments. If you are not in a position to pay due to shortage of money then limit your spending.
Paying off your huge debt in small amounts.
The credit bureaus can also make mistakes. They store the ratings of many people and are they too can make mistakes. They can enter wrong details about you. So check!
Ask for a copy from the bureau contacted. Read the information completely and note down any errors. It is bureau’s duty to have a look into matter, report the facts and send the corrected details to the lenders who have turned down your request for credit."

It's time consuming something that you should do yourself? Do you really want to give out all your personal information?
