Try hot oil treatments maybe once a week, and also, I like the little Dove deep-conditioning tubes (in a mauve box.)

Check out the book Curly Girl--it has awesome advice and even recipes for stuff like avocado hair packs and stuff like that. It's a great book.

One of the main points is that you need to stop using shampoo. No, really. Conditioner alone will clean your hair, unless you need a little shampoo at the roots just to wash your scalp.

It really cuts down on frizz and cuts out the whole poofy just-washed hair/calming down cycle you get when you use detergents on your hair that are too harsh.

And oh, yeah, there's always Cholesterol, by Queen Helene. Sounds nasty, works great. On occasion--don't OD on the stuff.

Look into the Sexy Curly line. They come in blue bottles and now are available at CVS. Prior to this I could only get them at specialty stores. They also have Sexy Big Hair and a few other line. I've been using Sexy Curly for about 2 years now and my hair is Fantastic.

if you're trying to have less curl, any conditioner will do. the trick is to keep it in longer than what the package recommends.
