I know how it is pressurized and everything like that. But, when does the pressurization actually take place?

Some pressure is put in just as the engines start and the cabin door is sealed, thats just because there is no way for the air that is getting put through the air vents has no way out... the aircraft begins "aggressive" pressurization after takeoff, on climbout, it pressurizes pretty slowly, all things considered because it will reach its final pressure well before the airplane reaches its cruising altitude. The cabin will have the pressure of approximatly 8,000 ft.

Typically the aircraft will bne pressurized to something like 150' below field elevation upon initial application of takeoff power. This helps to stiffen the fuselage.

This initial pressurization occurs a few seconds before the aircraft is actually off the ground. Aslo, the aircraft is pressurized to below field elevation on landing. The aicraft then depressurizes slowly after landing and reaches neutral within 30 seconds to1 minute or so after landing.

the presurization is gradually applied....because the human ears can not stand too fast variations, so the pressure gradually get smaller while the plane is climbing, but the speed is different from the climb speed of the plane...
for example if the plane is climbing at 10m/s....an altimeter placed inside the fuselage will change at a different speed for example 4 m/s, because the ears can be damaged by fast pressure variations...

Only when all doors are closed (similar to suction closed) and locked When engines are on and all systems are ready your at that point, fully pressurized.

When they close the door before takeoff then it will adjust with altitude
