Somehow I was never given the chance to have a relationship with someone that would mean a lot to me. It seems I have always attracted people whom I didn't even like and on the other I have always felt for people who wouldn't (or couldn't) respond. All these thoughts have really affected the way I see myself and have started to ruin my self-esteem as I begin to feel there must be something wrong with me. Do you believe that some people are not destined to love and be loved?

No. I believe everybody is conditioned to want to give and receive love. You don't say how old you are, but perhaps you just haven't had time yet to meet the right person - but of course, when you go looking is the least likely time to find someone. There is nothing wrong with you, we've all kissed a hell of a lot of frogs before we've found our princes, just keep going out and having fun, and the right guy will come along eventually. Just don't look on every man you meet as the potential "one" - get to know them as a person first, boyfriend material later! Good luck, I'm sure Mr Right is having just as much trouble finding you, but he'll get there.

im goin thru the same thing rite about now and i just keep it in my head that il meet someone one day and remember - u kno how people would like someone and they are way 2 shy 2 tell the person so they either act the opposite or stay far way from them? well how do u kno thats not going on with someone about u ?

I kind of know how you feel. I seem to have a problem connecting with people who mean a lot to me so my self-esteem isn't exactly at an all time high either.
I think the important thing is to keep trying. That is how you will eventually meet that special someone. Everyone is destined to love and be loved. That's why are we here.
You will definitely meet that special someone. And so will I.

I thinkwe have all done what you have done but don't worry at least you aretrying and it is not youyr fault of a man does not turn out what he pretends to be. It works the same way with men getting involved with women. Learn from your past mistakes and your boat will come in.Honest.
