I have a few programs that I don't want to start when I first turn on my pc. Yahoo messenger, Limewire. Quicktime etc... How do I change it so they only start up when I open them?

click on start > run type msconfig. Press ok. Click on Startup tab. Uncheck names of those programs there that you do not need at startup. (These settings are reversible, if you uncheck something and later decide that it is necessary at startup; you can always come back and change the settings again.) Press Apply. Press close. Click on restart to reboot the computer. After reboot system configuration message window appears . Check the box that says do not display this again, and press ok to close the box.

first with yahoo messenger make sure ur signed in and then hold down control+****+p at the same time then on the left tab go to General and the first item must be unchecked which says start yahoo atomatically
for all your other items go to start>run>type msconfig> last tab startup uncheck everything then it will promote u to restart> restart and read the message that comes up and put a check and hit ok

hope this helped:)

Click on Messenger on your Yahoo software and select Privacy option.

To the left, click on General and uncheck " Automatically start Yahoo messeneger , then click the ok button to confirm.

Do this same steps with the rest of programs you have.

Bye now.

go to yahoo messenger options and turn off the option to start with windows. Also you can go to start run type msconfig and enter it, go to the startup tab and uncheck yahoo messenger. Then reboot
