Do mountains help prevent earthquakes from happening?

Don't think so..........our local mountains here in Southern California experience quakes quite often.

Mountains are usually formed where the earth's plates are active. That means that mountains are a good indicator of where earthquakes are likely to happen. They do not affect the likelihood of an earthquake.

However, mountains can make recovery hard if earthquakes happen. They obstruct recovery vehicles and can make landslides.

Magnetics drive most motion in the universe. Mountains grow because of the magnetic forces pushing one plate into another. Earthquakes are formed by plates shifting and pressures redistributed. So mountains by definition have earthquakes.

No, i dont think so, because mountains are formed by the clashing of 2 tectonic plates so if anything mountains would be on an unstable area that would be more likely to have e- quakes
