I'm interested in participating in a volunteer service for third world nations, but I'm looking for one that is one year or shorter. Can anyone recommend any?

There is a similar program within America that allows you to use your talents within the country.

I believe that the term for AmeriCorps is a one-year commitment. AmeriCorps has provided my non-profit organization with some extremely talented individuals that have made a great difference in managing disaster relief programs, volunteer management programs, cultural enrichment activities, mentoring, tax preparation, and so many other great activities.

It's only a year commitment, and I believe that the program may provide a stipend for living expenses in many cases.

Good luck!
