All churches are behind the times by centuries and should be converted to good use or demolished.

It's not so much whether my or your church is behind the times. It's "Do they do the right thing? do they practice what they preach? do they follow the law they profess to?

Then, "Is the faith itself consistent within itself? In other words, do I say I support life, the right to life, so I oppose a woman's decision over her body, but then I ignore the orphans who need help?"

"Am I anti-abortion, but then I support the death penalty?" How is that "pro-life?"

I would venture to say most of our churches are inconsistent. This has little to do with "being with or ahead of the times." That saying is based on a belief in a linear progression, in some mystical "progress of evolution."

I reject that. I say, the truth has always been set down clearly, right in the Bible. Read it. Discuss it. Seek understanding.

The faith communities I admire in my area are the Quakers, the Unitarians, the Moslems, the Wiccans, some of the Jews, and a few of the Christians.

Those who have left their places of worship, be they Christian, Jew, or whatever, they are the ones who are falling behind.

Well it is ahead of the times with it's high dollar technology, not realizing that is what will fool mankind in the long run.

It is behind the times, because this particular church has deemed it more necessary to value money and duty more important than worship and fellowship.

The church I claim membership of isn't ahead or behind the times, but it evolves WITH time as new discoveries are made and old questions answered. It is about wondering where we come from and putting the pieces together rather than just assuming.

I am an Atheist.

Behind what times? Ahead of what time? God is the same as yesterday and the same as tomorrow...He never changes...His word never changes...it is the same for His church today as it was yesterday...

i think its pretty up to date and maybe ahead. they have two projectors on the wall where they post up the scriptures rather than have everyone look for it in the Bible. they also have a camera on the pupit which projects onto the screens for those who cant see in the balcony. i dont go to a very huge church but its more for convenience.

Yes ahead of it's time [ it doesn't bend to pressure from do gooders & new age ] True to scriptures !!!!!!!

The papacy is the oldest Intuition in the world .- How could it survived without the grace of God & the guidance of the Holy Spirit.........The Holy Spirit did not convert to Islam in 610AD or Lutheranism in 1517AD or Calvinism in 1540s AD ...There's no comparisons.................The truth is , they Catholics give us the first Bible..the rest of religions intrepid it differently & formed counterfeit religion's groups...which inturn give us supermarket christens;.......pick & choose laws to suit themselves [ cool & new age stuff ] but has nothing to do with the scriptures

Behind the times: No free food and dinners; No store house, own their own land and build, having orphanges and support the widows. The word of God is going forth and studying, and own their own buidling.

My church is both.
I go to the Church of Christ Jesus. It is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Grace and Peace to you.
