I was thinking of buying an Alexandrine parrot, and i thought i should purchase one of those stand thing on which they sit on, instead of a cage, cuz i dont have a lot of space in my room or apartment for that matter. Can anyone tell me about the stand, any experiance and how much it would cost?

Pictures, if u want to see an alexandrine:

There are lots of cages available with an open up top with play area for day time. You have to have a proper bird cage and not just a stand. Not only for the bird's safety, but to protect your home. Parrots are big time chewers. My Cockatoo recently escaped from his cage and ate my TV remote and removed all the keys from my keyboard! And that was in less than 15 minutes!

i would not recomind this at all. i knew of a person who kept their bird in a room on a playstand while they were not at home and the bird got down and chewed throught a wire they forgot to unplug. it didn't turn out good. alexandrine's can get pretty good size he really needs a larger size cage for his own well being. maybe there is something in your room you could move or get out of your room so you can make space for a proper size cage.

because of the fact it takes 3 years for an Alexandrine parakeet to mature, your poultry would be exhibiting male shade at his next molt, or the single after. If he hasn't by using this time, have him sexed by using your avain vet.

Bad idea. A bird needs a cage. You cannot expect it to stay on that perch when you're not there. I live in a one bedroom apartment, I have THREE birds and they have a cage.

Stands are for time out of the cage. Cages are necessary for saftey.
