I don't believe God "lets" anything in particular happen. Since Adam and Eve were ejected from the Garden of Eden, he has given us free will. We are the cause of oil spills and all the other terrible things we have done to this beautiful world God gave us. Its our fault....not God's.

no He doesnt let oil spills happen. its not His work to take care of the petty things in the world, although He can if He chose to. He gave us humans brains so that we can think and act to protect the earth and its source. and since we've been doing the opposite, thats when bad things happened, like the global warming

I always wonder why man has to blame his stupidity on God. The governments of this world could easily outlaw inadequate tankers, pursuing their users and owners BEFORE oil spills happen.
They are a menace to the earth. As dangerous as terrorism.

Well since we have free will & we can be rather dumb at times, oil spills. At least we have the sense to clean up our messes.
thank God

God allows man to sin purposely or accidentally.
The wages of sin is death. And oil spills kill a lot of water creatures.

What would you have God do? Control our every action and treat us like puppets on his string?
If God would do that then you would be the first to B I T C H that God doesn't let you do anything. That you can't make your own choices even if those choices are harmful to you!
There would be no freewill no free thought! We would be living in complete servitude to this God! IS THAT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT?

why not?
as flesh beings many of us have free will and a few are predestined for heaven.
many of the free willers would not like it if God controlled every aspect of their lives. predestiners kiss the paddle.
therefore God will not intercede into a free willers life unless He is asked. and His answers to prayers are not always yes. if He sees that giving you a brand new sports car is going to cause you to crash into a school bus killing children, he may see fit not to give you the car.

when God created his master piece...which is planet earth....he created everything to perfection...we still do not understand some of his creations...in our modern times...
do you honestly think that God would want or allow an oil spil on his creation? knowing the horrible circumstances it creates?
God gave dominion of this earth to Adam...Adam gave it to Satan..so, there you go...God loves us, he created us; and, this earth (which by the way you are only earth really)...and, soul and holy spirit (if you are born again) we need a new earth...and, as christians we are waiting upon Jesus return..
bless u

G-d had buried the oil hundreds and thousands of feet deep. It was safe- then we dug it up, and spilled it.
Can't blame G-d for our mistakes
