Idol Worship,
why worship anything, its a bit sad really. when true faith comes from the heart. There really isnt a need/call to worship idols at all is there.

A true image of ones God should be a personal and private thing between his/her God and and prayers should be a personal and private thing too.

Religion comes under fire so easily. and no wonder.

People cannot grasp such a simple message purely because that message is so simple.

So with great pomp and ceromony their very own God is replaced due to ignorance fear and misunderstanding. and a lack of real value.

Shame really.

And yea. God is all around us in every living and non material thing. and of that which was, is and which is to come.

Mind you that image of God being a silver hair old geezer? wow he probly bold as hell from pulling his hair out having to watch over this lunatic asylem called earth.

No. I don't believe in idol worshipping cause I believe in God Who has forbidden worshipping of Idols or putting partnership to Him.
May God save us from idol worshipping.

We worship the Absolute Creator, the One and Only One Who has no partnerships. We don't worship idols that some of us, humans, create and then worship their own creation.

I think God is all around us, but I do not believe that respecting all the things around us = respecting and worshipping God.

Only directly worshipping God is what we are called to do. We should respect his creation, but not worship it in place of Him.

Of course godbots believe in idol worship. How many do you see giving away all their worldly goods to help the poor?

What we really need is idle worship: People become too lazy to bother with religion and instead deal in the real world.

There are just so many false gods around us. Consumerism and materialism run rampant thoughout imaginations everywhere, gods of sex, money, greed, lust, violence, covetousness rule the imagery presented to us everyday in the multi faced media spectacle which we are exhorted to admire and aspire to. "See Liz Hurley's wedding shots" "Robbie is in Rehab" "Get your winning lotto in the Soaraway Sun" Is it any wonder that people take refuge in binge drinking and stupid anti social actions? You don't have to be a drunken navvie to throw up on that lot do you?

No because it is in the Ten Commandments. The Bible says in Exodus 20:4 (KJV) that "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth."

well idols are our way of bringing god to earth. if we can see what he looks like, it's easier to praise him. but he depends on trust, not just "oh there he is, best praise him". so to your question, no as god is challanging me to trust in him.
