vitamin C will do you no good if you're already sick. vitamin C is good if you feel like you're about to get sick and it will help strengthen your immune system, but if you've already got the snifflles and sore throat, then you're eft with the vitamin C.

keep cold-eeze lozenges near you. in my opinion, they are the best tasting lozenges ever. drink lots of fluids, and SLEEP!! take advantage of the days off school/work you're going to get.

Although I'm normally leery of homeopathic remedies, from my experience Zicam is effect in preventing or shortening colds. Zinc lozenges can also help prevent a bad cold.

Take some ibuprofen or tylenol, drink some orange juice or another juice with vitamin C, gargle with warm salt water (1/4 tsp salt in a cup of warm water), bundle up so you stay warm, go to bed early.

For your throat, gargle with tepid water with a bit of salt in it. That can help. Or honey and lemon will help too.
Runny nose, blow your nose as often as you can (I know, yuck!) however, it will help get that junk ot of your system quicker. Maybe a warm shower, or hot shower water while you stand in the bathroom, (door closed) to let the steam help. Tylenol, will help for any headache, etc. And, please, drink lots of fluids, especially water-it keeps you well hydrated, to help give you a bit of energy, and if you are on no other meds (blood pressure) etc., you could talk with your local pharmacist as to what med would help you with your symptoms. I hope you feel better soon. Take care.

I agree with KP taking a nice hot bath & my personal favorite are my penguin flannel jammies. Gargel with salt water. Put some vics on your throat, take motrin and jump in bed.

sleep, fluids, rest, tylenol, and a decongestant if your head feels stuffy. Sorry but there's really nothing to do. Once you've got it, you've just got to ride it out. But at least colds aren't too bad. Hope you feel better soon!

eat raw garlic. chop it fine or crush it and add it too your dinner. its nice on toast with sliced tomato or chop cloves into swallowable pieces and have after your meals with water. eat 2-4 cloves a day until a couple of days after feeling better.
