I haven't changed his diet, everything in his life is the same. Some times he throws up before I feed him. It looks like his food isn't always chewed up. Could it just be from him getting old, or is something wrong with him?

Vomiting frequently occurs in older cats who are having kidney problems. Please consult with your vet to see if you should change his food or give him fluids on a regular basis. Some owners are instructed to give a small amount of pepcid ac to help with this. You need to follow your vet's recommendations.

The most common causes of vomiting in older cats are:

1. inflammatory bowel disease -- there are several causes of this, including intestinal lymphoma (a form of cancer)
2. food sensitivities and immune mediated disorders
3. a combination of inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis and cholangiohepatitis (a liver disorder), called triad syndrome for want of a better name
4. hyperthyroidism
5. renal failure

Vomiting can occur for reasons other than those listed above but those are the most common causes.

At any rate, a visit to the vet is TRULY in order.

15 is indeed old for a cat. You may want to try him on a senior formula, or perhaps something for sensitive tummies.

If he hasn't been to the vet lately, take him for a check-up and tell the vet your concerns. The vet may want to do blood work on him to make sure nothing is going on.

Good luck!
