I've had diarrhea for almost 5 days now, and I can't seem to get rid of it and I'm really dehydrated. I've eaten all the foods I've been told too, but I'm still nauseated. Everytime I go to use the bathroom it comes out as almost pure liquid, It's really bad.

Please, get some gatorade, that will help you with your electorlytes, and feeling better, and less dehydrated. Try tums However, this has been going on for 5 days-so please, get to the dr. asap! Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Bananas
Rice
Applesacue
Toast

Drink water, nothing with caffeine, NO DAIRY, no high sugar drinks like soda or gatorade; pedialyte might help although it's expensive. Even after you start feeling better, continue a very light diet, adding a little chicken noodle soup and crackers, but nothing else.

Get some immodium and take that for a day. If that doesn't help, you need to go to a doc and have your stool analyzed. You could have some sort of food poisoning or a bacterial infection or parasite.

**I just read your additional information. If you are truly eating nothing but the BRAT diet, and the immodium didn't work when taken as prescribed, you need to see the doctor tomorrow.

If I were you I'd want to know why u have this problem! But whenever I went to Mexico I'd always carry "Kaopectate" pills r ? with me, it helps there, it'll help you. Hope you have a pharmacy that is open and if nobody is with you, call 1st to make sure they
have it as I am in Canada. This is a patented medication given in certain cases of diarrhoea to solidify the feces. Lord, help us if u
need a prescription! Different Country Different Rules. I hope the the best for you, and please even though it'll hurt after keep drinking water or you will dehydrate & if you're vomitting too, u may have food poisening. My sympathy goes out and you should
have not waited 5 days. If u can't get the bes try Pepto Bismol.
Wishing you well!

If it does not go away within a week you may want to see your doctor. Dehydration can be a very serious problem, if your drinking alot of water you can actually dehydrate faster due to any number of possible conditions. If you are having serious lower abdominal cramps it can even be a sign of food poisoning. Im not a doctor but I remember once when I had horrible stomach cramps and the runs it was from some nasty stomach flu thing that I caught. The doc told me to just slowly sip gatoraide (not water or juice) and slowly eat saltine crackers. But when it comes to anything medical do not rely on what people say on a message board (even if they claim to be a physician), always consult your family doctor. If you do not have insurance then call around to find a free clinic and see one of their Doctors.

PS: Very severe dehydration and blurred vision or feeling woosey can also be a sign of diabetes so do not take it lightly. A friend of mine was downing 2 gallons of water a day and could not quench his thirst, withen a week he was in the hospital and found out he was severely diabetic.

5 days is a long time for this to be going on. You really should get in to see a doctor and make sure it isn't something more serious than a virus.

Keep up all the clear liquids you can. Fresh bananas and rice are two foods that can help slow it down. Try peppermint tea to sooth the nausea, ginger ale... anything with ginger can also help.

Much luck.

Pepto Bismol.

I have also heard that if you fix rice and stain the starchy water out of it and drink it it will work just as well.

It is a virus. It will pass. Just keep those liquids going in while they are going out!

Five days seems too long for a mild case, and you are right to worry about dehydration, you should really call a doctor.

try some immodium. take two after you poop and then one there after. but dont exceed whatever the box says. dont overdose or anything and you may want to get checked out for that. sounds like your digestive tract is having some severe issues. not normal.

I had diarrhea for 1 whole week before... and I knew that I had eaten something really bad... I went to doctor as well... and got some of those like sachet of salt or something with orange flavour to be mixed with warm water... it helps to replenish some of my fluids.. I know how it feels...

in worse case scenario, it might due to colon related diseases... you gotta know what triggered it... goto look for the doctor and seek their advice...

Beats me. But maybe a tampon? Good luck and it would be in your best interest to not sneeze or cough and probably don't laugh too hard either.
