theres nothing wrong with a catholic school. they can sometimes teach better than the public schools. its also better, because the schools are usually smaller and its easier to get a more personal teaching to the child.

If you lived in my school district you'd understand why I'd want my child to go, and, as far as a scholarship? Because they are expensive.

Because I couldn't afford to pay myself. There's nothing wrong with Catholic school. My dad graduated from one and turned out great.

However, if you're a different religion then perhaps it's for the quality education that may not be available in your area.
