I already uninstall it manually from my HP labtop ( I have Windows XP), but it the little logo thiing still shows on my icon box at the left bottom corner of my computer. Does this mean it wasnt really uninstalled. I clicked on the icon box and it reloads again. Help! I want it off my computer entirely. I have finally been scared enough that I am done with downloading music online for free completely!

Windows has a lot of hidden files, with a Mac it's easier. The same thing happened to me, I though I had removed mine and then one day I was going through my files and I saw it. Unfortunately I can't remember the path but I finally got it off. How do you get information bout files and programs on windows? Figure that out so you can see where it's located on ur PC and remove it.

Not much help I know...sorry.

Have you tried clicking on the icon? That will tell you if it connects to a program. I think this is unusual behavior you are experiencing, Limewire usually uninstalls completely.

First I would find out if the icon is "live." If it is, then you need to go to your control panel, add/remove programs and remove Limewire.

Second, if the icon is not live, I would right click on it, then click properties in the resulting menu to see where the icon program still resides on your hard drive and manually delete that program.

You could also go into start up, is used to be MSconfig using run in the start button and see if Startup has an entry to load the Limewire icon on bootup...you could disable it so it doesn't load.

You can't manually uninstall it. You must choose uninstall from the limewire folder in the start menu. Reinstall it and then uninstall it that way. Even after an uninstall it leaves behind a a folder named .limewire and another program with limewire and stub in the name. Just do a search for them and delete them.
