Not sure about how long it lasts, but to make yourself feel better try putting some orajel or anbesol on the sores. Some people will always swish salt water in their mouth. If the brackets or wires are irritating you, put some wax over the spot that's causing you irritation.

Feel better.

It's really awful when you first get them on! The braces cut up your gums but they toughen up amazingly quickly. You can use wax at this stage but I hated the wax as much as the pain. After a few days the pain goes away as your gums develop a hard skin. The only time you feel it again like that is when your teeth move into a new space but it's never as bad as the first time. After tightening your teeth will hurt for a few days for a bit and make it hard to eat certain things. Overall and for the most part, you get so used to them and forget they are there!

If you mean irritation from the metal rubbing inside your mouth, it lasts not more than a week or two.

The soreness of your teeth usually passes in a few days.

For me, at most a week. It should start to be OK by day three. Soups help, but try not to eat too hot or too cold of foods.

It depends. It can hurt for a while. See your urologist. It's best to stick to girls who don't wear braces.
