I'd say male.

Male Boxers tend to be momma's boys. (example:my breeder sent her male to his handler for a month or two, and he moped the whole while 'cause momma wasn't there) Females are more independent and can be a lot more 'catty'. All the females I've met tend to be shrewder than their male counterparts. Males Boxers depend more on you, tend to be more loving. And you also have more options if you decide to add another Boxer to the family. Two females are more likely to fight (and this is coming from someone who owns two females . . .missed the memo)

But I'd focus on not the gender, but the personality. Just because it's a certain gender doesn't mean they'll fit well with you. I also hope you realize the difficulties that come with this breed. Bored Boxers are disaster, they do not learn with repetive training . . .you must always be creative, you will find your Boxer is more often than not smarter than you, and a fair number are claimed by cancer.

Good luck.

Well, if you want just a single puppy, u should get a male. But if you want a female, be sure that if you want it to have puppies itself when it grows up, NOT neuter it or anything. But I would get a male it I were you. You can tell if it will pee or poop when on walks lol=P!

The individual differences between the puppies are a lot more important than their gender.

Try to determine which puppies are friendly, which are dominant, which are submissive, which are curious, which are quiet... and so on. Then pick one based on its personality, the gender is not important especially once it's spayed or neutered.

I would always say that getting a male dog is better. Why? Simple. They don't go into heat. Get a female dog and have to worry about her bleeding all over the house, or your yard. And dogs for miles around will be howling and trying to break in. It sucks.

Female boxers....They tend to be a little more docile. And a little bit less hard headed!! LOL

I'd choose a female...they say that females are always more loyal. They also say that they are easier to train as far as house training and obedience. Either way you choose, the breed is wonderful!

If your not going to breed, pick by personality. I have one of each. Both are gentle and loyal.

female... if you are looking for a dog to protect your home, then get a female, because they are more aggressive!
