Wow - have you been to a grocery store or 7-11 type store lately? If you were old enough to buy cigs, you wouldn't be asking.

It used to be $1.00 a carton but I've stopped smoking since then.

Today it is around $50.00 a carton ( should have invested in the stuff )

First, assuming you are old enough to smoke, convenience stores, grocers, and gas stations carry cigarettes. Also, tobacco shops and liquor stores. How much they cost depends on where you live and what taxes there are on them. They are cheaper where they are grown and made as no, or little transport fees and those areas are tobacco friendly, mostly.
