i don't think he wants her back as he left her and she would take him back in a heart beat.they do share a young child together so this maybe part of it. he tells me all the time how awful and controlling she was to him thats why he left but he still allows her to call the shots.why?its like thier still married just not living together and i'm the 3rd wheel.he seems more conserned about what she thinks/feels than me.

they both have joint custody so she can't threaten to take his son away.

maybe because he wants to keep all on an even keel with his son's mother and if the mother is mad she will take it out on his son . So you see he figures it is better to get along with her rather than fight with her. good luck. I would sit him down and tell him how this makes you feel .

Do you feel insecure about his feelings for you? Do you have the gutt feeling he still have feelings for her? I would talk to him now! before making more arrangements for the wedding. Its difficult to break away from the other person, when there is a child in the middle. Mention to him about your feelings and suggest counseling before marriage because if he has join custody there are going to be many, many, many times for this to repeat. Also, think about how its going to affect when you have kids with him. Good luck and best wishes!

Are you talking about a specific incident or is this all the time, and why are you arguing with his ex-wife in the first place?

There is nothing worse than a man who will not stand up to his ex, or his mother. I would tell him to ship up or ship out, be a man and stop letting this woman walk all over him, its an insult to him and to you.
