Just send her a card and tell her that you love her. Why do you say that she is "an old house wife"? Sounds disrespectful to me. In that case send her nothing. She'll know that you are not worthy to be your daughter in law.

Good Question!!! You sound like a cool daughter in law! My mother in law is a homemaker and always has been. She did a really good job with her kids. My husband and I send her a Honey Baked Ham Meal it's kind of expensive but she loves it!!! Just go to honeybakedham.com and you can pick out all her fave's on line! Best of wish's to you!

I would get her a gift, I always get my mother-in-law a gift. She deserves it. I have a wonderful husband because of her. I would suggest a potted plant or if she is religious something that has a scripture on it. I bet she would love a beautiful photo of the two of you together.

A card & flowers. If she spends a lot of time at home send her a potted plant, maybe something that she can plant outside & don't forget the card.

Theater tickets (movies or other).
Or maybe something for around her house or yard. I found they really don't care. For older people, not the younger selfish ones, it IS really the thought that count.

why should you get your mother in law a present, i've never heard such nonsense, shes not your mom so why should you have to buy her a present. Just because you get married and have in laws doesn't mean they become part of your family, to me they are still strangers and would have no significance, in my life.
