My male dog has become very nasty since our female has gone into heat. I purchased a muzzle for him to use on a temporary basis, but I think it is mean.

Well not unless it is really neccasary. I mean you wouldn't want to put your dog at risk to people and himself now would you? So a muzzel is a good option at this moment. As long as the muzzle is well aired, it should be fine. Don't worry about him, muzzles are comletely humane, and most dogs cope with them just fine. Am sure he'll be okay =]

It's only mean if you leave the muzzle on so the dog can't eat or drink when it needs to, or if the muzzle is either broken or the wrong size so it hurts the dog and leaves sores. A good muzzle that fits well and is used properly isn't mean at all. The dog may not like it, but that's not how we define mean.

She would not desire a muzzle. She needs education. i visit't have self belief you have not been sued and the dogs hasn't been placed lower than. it truly is no longer frequent for a dogs to easily chew human beings left and suitable like that...it truly is no longer a dogs's first instinct to chew. you want to talk over with a coach or contained in the very least a vet.

Why is it mean? It is a way of training. Don't keep the muzzle on for any more than fifteen minutes at a time.

I think it is ok for the short term, but please do not consider leaving the muzzle on for a long time. They are not intended for continued use all at once. The best thing would be to get both pets altered, as altered animals tend to be more relaxed.

Not mean at all, but it could make him more ferocious, best talkto your vet to see if a muzzle is necessary.

It has nothing to do with being mean. It has everything to do with showing you are being a responsible pet owner.

By the way, it is not mean. It actually does more to protect your pet than protecting others.
