"Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?" Gal. 4:16
I don't remember exactly how many years ago it was, but I do remember being told that one of the popes' hats did have in Roman numerals that when added up did equal 666. That was about 300 years ago. They have never wore the numerals on the hat since then. I learned this when I was a catholic.
In Revelation it claims that the whore lives on 7 hills. Most catholic bibles in the back of their books openly admit that the church is on 7 hills.
Catholics' are also mislead to believe that Peter was it's first Pope. He wasn't. High ranking officials in mama know this to be true but they are not going to tell anyone. The only reason the church claims Peter as the first Pope was to draw more people into it. But I can't say that I know who was the first pope.
Besides, consider all the books written about the church... I'll name just two of them: "The Secret History of the Jesuits", by Edmond Paris.
The new pope, Benedict XVI, was recently in Germany for World Youth Day 2005. He urged Europe to return to its "Christian roots." What does that mean? It means a time when kings lived in fear of the pope. This new Roman Catholic leader was formerly the Chief Inquisitor, head of the "Holy Office" of the Inquisition. Is it any coincidence that this German pope is still referred to by his colleagues as "Der Panzerkardinal?"
A catholic newspaper in Spain wrote the following on the day Hitler died:
“Adolph Hitler, son of the Catholic Church, died while defending Christianity. It is therefore understandable that words cannot be found to lament over his death, when so many where found to exalt his life. Over his dead remains stands his victorious moral figure, with the palm of the martyr; God gives Hitler laurels of victory.”
Another one is titled The Godfathers" which can be read online for free without downloading anything. (below) This book was written by a former catholic.

Of course not. There is nothing in scripture that says he is or will be. That is such an old, worn out attack on Catholicism...I'm surprised it's still around. It is not uncommon for people to put down and try to disprove things they do not understand. Many Bible Christians just regurgitate what they've heard over the years and never actually try to find out the truth.
St. John supposes in his Epistles that the early Christians are acquainted with the teaching concerning the coming of Antichrist. "You have heard that Antichrist cometh" (1 John 2:18); "This is Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he cometh" (1 John 4:3). Though the Apostle speaks of several Antichrists, he distinguishes between the many and the one principal agent: "Antichrist cometh, even now there are become many Antichrists" (1 John 2:18). Again, the writer outlines the character and work of Antichrist: "They went out from us, but they were not of us" (1 John 2;19); "Who is a liar, but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist, who denies the Father, and the Son" (1 John 2:22); "And every spirit that dissolveth Jesus, is not of God; and this is Antichrist" (1 John 4:3); "For many seducers are gone out into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh: this is a seducer and an Antichrist" (2 John 7). Also the time, the Apostle places the coming of Antichrist at "the last hour" (1 John 2:18); again he maintains that "he is now already in the world" (1 John 4:3).
This certainly does NOT describe the Pope...he acknowledges Jesus as the Christ and acknowledges the Jesus came in the flesh.
There is a thinking that the anti-Christ might not even be a person, but an ideology.

ok. no. i heard he is the last pope, after him, will come the anti-christ. the bible said, the anti-christ will be loved, handsome, and smooth....i would call the pope hot! the 666 part is just the mark which we later are going to have to have, in order to buy or sell. sort of like a mircochip, or something like that. but the anti-christ is coming really soon. (and i heard he might be from rome.) =] all of revelations talks about it...so theres just to much.

I am a muslim, i hope its ok with u to hear my answer!
No the pope isnt the antichrist, in our religion there is a clear cut definition of the antichrist and how does he look like, the things that he can and will do at the end of times, none matches with the pope.
Here is one discription of him thats not mentioned by any other religion but in islam (He will have one eye with which he can see while his other eye will be totally flat. It will neither be deep (in its socket) nor protruding. )

Your question is purely hate speech. And believe it or not, Pope Benedict is not even mentioned in the Bible, only Peter was, the first Pope. If you want to twist Jesus' words "get behind me Satan" as meaning the anitChrist, I can't stop you, but it would defininitely be out of context.
