The Pentateuch contains 613 commandments. Obey them and you get into Heaven.

Is that clear enough?

They might have a different perspective on things.

And they are as sure of their understandings as Christians are of theirs. Neither appears to be concerned at all about the other's idea of "heaven," either.

Just for giggles and grunts, try to imagine that everything you have been told about your religion is wrong, except for one thing, and that one thing is that there really is a Messiah.

If you can do that, then you will be at ground zero with a Jew that could do the same thing.

Then you could begin to piece together the real meanings of the prophecy that brought life to all of the religions that use the Old Testament as their Bible.

Before you even get close to understanding everything, you will probably realize that most of the prophecy hasn't even happened yet. And you will also realize that the "heaven" you are after isn't even included in the prophecy. Death is to be avoided at all costs, when the "end of years" arrives.

So, in a nutshell......they will be just as surprised as Christians when the Messiah shows up, and they both find out that he doesn't work for them.

Regards,

Chris

Sacrifices never, ever nulled or atoned for sins. Sure, they "put in a good word for you," but a man with a bull to sacrifice was as much forgiven as a man without a bull to sacrifice. Jews today, like the Jews of biblical times, do something called teshuvah to repent of wrongs committed against other people.

1. recognize the wrong. recognize that what you did to this person was wrong, and feel remorse for it.
2. ask that person for forgiveness. Nobody can forgive you besides the one you have wronged, and nobody can ask forgiveness for you. This is a big piece of Judaism.
3. Try and fix whatever you did wrong.
4. Resolve and actively try never to commit the wrong again

For sins committed against G-d, we have Yom Kippur for.

people don't need a sacrifice to be forgiven of sins and there are countless biblical verses to show exactly that. if you want a full explanation on exactly what judaism thinks about the idea that sacrifices are necessary to forgive sins, you should visit here: http://www.whatjewsbelieve.org/explanation02.html

"With what shall I come before the Eternal and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Eternal be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Eternal require of you? Only to do Justice, and to love Mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
- Micah 6:6-8

Are you part of their faith? Are you trying to set issues according to your ideals? Are you of any faith?

From the Hebrew and Christian point, only TWO considerations will get you into Heaven!

How you bow, stand, whistle, comb your hair or pray will not get you there. Only LOVE of GOD and your fellow human being!

To love, takes away every injustice, wrong doing, or human violation of one against or to another.

To love GOD is to love what GOD has made, both nature and humans. But then, what faith does not teach this? Which faith, belief, religion teaches to violate any of the Ten Commandments! What peoples want you to violate any of the Commandments when you interact WITH THEM?

Why are you so concerned about the saw dust on the coats of others while you have a whole tree growing out of your eye?

Your presumption, that we can sacrifice to "null" our sins, is not Biblical. Our sins are nulled by what Jesus did on the cross. He took the penalty that I, as a sinner, deserve. Claiming Him as Savior is the only way to heaven.

Have you not read?
Luke 3:3 baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
Or
Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

In both cases baptism & repentance was for the remission of sin. Nothing to do with blood here!

Y'shua - the Lamb that God provided for the burnt offering....Our one and only TRUE Passover....the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the World.....He is the final Sacrifice for sin and it
is only through Him that ANYONE can be saved!!!

The sacrificial system in the tabernacle and then in the Temple can be compared to one making min. payments on a debt, but with the understanding that a FINAL payment was due. God acc-epted the animal sacrifices as a temporary stop gap measure, as it were....but it was by faith, looking forward to the FINAL re-demption by the Lamb of God....Y'shua came and paid the FULL debt for us ALL, with or without having to make "min. payments" before or after -- since gentiles did not have the Law or the anim-al sacrifices -- and yet God now accepts ALL who come to Him by the BLOOD sacrifice of His Son and ONLY by His Son.

WITHOUT THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD, THERE IS NO REMIS-SION OF SIN!! ~~ HEBREWS 9;22

IT IS THE BLOOD THAT MAKES ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL.

WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD, I WILL PASS OVER YOU
