Ello! I am a Methodist, raised in the Midwest. We had two woman pastors in a row, each here for 8 years. So anyway. I tend to think that Methodists are um.... people like me? We are more liberal in our practices than most churches (generally, I'm not counting some that are more conservative style churches) Our motto is "open minds, open hearts, and open doors" and that pretty much sums up our mindset. If you are human being, than you can come and worship here.

I was raised Methodist. They are a true Christian religion. The people that I knew, my Grandparents as well as church-goers were decent people who tried to follow Jesus and live holy lives to the best of their understanding.
I'm Catholic now, so my view of Protestantism comes from a different angle now. But, as a religion goes, Methodists are a safe, nice, God-loving group.

Well from what I know which isn't much since I was raised in the Baptist faith ( but my Paternal grandfather was a Methodist Minister) Methodist seem to be very strong in there beliefs, and have unshakable faith, and in the 1800s they were considered the major faith of the time along with catholic.

I grew up going to a Methodist church.
For the most part, they are okay. But, like any other group of people, there are good and bad.
I always enjoyed the fact that reason was emphasized. We weren't expected to just take our pastor's word to be true. And the Bible was meant to be interpreted--as opposed to being literal.

I just want to clear up something. Methodists most certainly do have gay ministers in gay relationships. There is a gay woman pastor and her lover in the State of Washington.

A Methodist is a person who attempts to listen to reason and the bible. The result is a half hearted attempt at both.

No, a Methodist is a Baptist that can read...
(But seriously I was raised Methodist. Methodists are liberal, but not as liberal as Episcopalians. They allow female ministers, but not gay ministers.)

I like them a lot. They are one of the Christian faiths that is the most inclusive. They have a lot of charitable works, locally and globally. They are very accepting of others and teach kindness and love.
